CHAPTER PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Captain Carol Adams (Petersburg Bureau of Police)

In the wake of the tragic accident in Washington, D.C., our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones. This devastating event is not merely a news story; it represents a profound loss that will resonate deeply within the lives of those affected.

In the wake of the tragic accident in Washington, D.C., our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones. This devastating event is not merely a news story; it represents a profound loss that will resonate deeply within the lives of those affected.

We also extend our thoughts to the first responders and professionals who are participating in the recovery of human remains. Their work is incredibly challenging and often requires them to suppress their emotions in the face of unimaginable sorrow. The impact of such experiences can leave lasting emotional and psychological scars that may go unrecognized.

It’s crucial to recognize that these professionals may struggle with pain and suffering in silence, stemming from the weight of their responsibilities and the expectations of their roles. Their well-being is vitally important, not just for themselves, but for their families and communities as well.

Let us keep them all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May we strive to offer support and understanding to those who bear the burden of such trauma, acknowledging the strength it takes to navigate their paths while encouraging open dialogue about their experiences.

Sincerely,

Carol Adams

CVC Chapter President

Marquis Who's Who Honors Morris E. Roberson

January 28, 2025 - NASHVILLE, NC

Morris E. Roberson has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Roberson has built a distinguished career in law enforcement and academia, marked by significant contributions and leadership roles. His professional journey began with his service in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for four years. This military background instilled a strong sense of duty and commitment, which he carried into his subsequent roles. Following his military service, Mr. Roberson embarked on a two-decade-long career as a postal inspector with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service from 1980 to 2000. During this time, he rose to a management position, an achievement he regards as one of his most notable.

In 2012, Mr. Roberson transitioned into academia, joining Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, until 2017. His tenure at the university allowed him to impart his extensive knowledge and experience in criminal justice to students, further solidifying his impact on the field.

Mr. Roberson's educational background laid a strong foundation for his career achievements. He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1979. Years later, he returned to college, obtaining a master's degree in criminal justice from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008.
